The Best Way to Boost Your Facebook Page’s Engagement

Has your Facebook page engagement been tanking lately?

While it may be tempting to give up on the platform entirely, Facebook has 2.74 billion monthly active users, which means the platform reaches 59% of the world's social media population.

It's the world's third-most visited website (behind Google and YouTube) and the world's second most downloaded app. Wow!

So there are a lot of people on Facebook that your business could potentially reach. Click here to read even more Facebook statistics.

While I, and the majority of business owners, focus their social media strategy on Instagram, there's still a place for Facebook. (Think of all your Facebook friends who don't have Instagram, for instance.)

Here are two tips to boost engagement on your Facebook page’s posts.

Engage

In order to get your posts seen by more people on Facebook, the key is to interact with other pages as your page.

There are two types of engagement, active and passive. Active engagement is to comment on posts or share them to your page.

Passive engagement is liking a post. Reacting to a post (selecting the heart or care icon, for example), is considered slightly more active than simply liking a post.

The more you engage with other pages, the more Facebook will promote your posts, and the more engagement you'll receive. The same works on Instagram!

Not sure how to interact with another page as your Facebook page? Check out the tutorial below.

Love a good short-cut? Visit www.facebook.com/USERNAME/news_feed to see posts made by the pages your page likes, all in one place.

Check out the tutorial below for more detail.

Not only does engaging with other pages boost your own engagement, you’ll also build deeper relationships with the pages you’re commenting on. And furthermore, their audience will see your comments and potentially visit your page. Win, win!

Share posts on your personal profile

Whenever I share a post from my Facebook page to my personal profile, it always ends up with way more likes and comments than the original post on my page.

That’s because Facebook tends to show us posts from friends more so than posts from the pages we’ve liked.

It’s best to be selective with the posts you share to your personal profile. If you share every single post, your friends might get bored and stop interacting.

I share important posts, like news (if I won an award or was featured in a publication), promotional deals (sales, new course announcements), and miscellaneous promotions (join my e-newsletter list).

Try to limit shares to 1-3 times per week. Need help sharing a post from your page to your profile? Check out the tutorial above.
