I grew up hearing my family swap their Sunday scary stories, and I knew I wanted my working life to be different.
I never understood that you could work for yourself until I interned with a wedding photographer at 16, and from there, my whole world changed.
I started my first business (MegaBug Photography) at age 18 with a $0 budget.
At 21, I was self-employed.
A few years later, I pivoted from photography to helping other millennial entrepreneurs start and grow their dream businesses.

I’ve had students enroll in both for the benefit of receiving an overview and guide from Self-Employed School paired with the detail and additional info found in the Debug Your Business membership.

Many business and marketing courses focus on one or only a few channels without first covering if your business should be on that channel in the first place!
Not only that, marketing is most effective when you have various channels working together, not independently. (Here’s why.)
In Self-Employed School, we cover a variety of marketing channels and how they overlap so you can create an effective marketing plan.
The other piece I’ve noticed that’s missing from other online courses - that is ESSENTIAL for the success of your business - is financial literacy.
In order to become self-employed, which is the goal of this course, you need to understand money. What’s coming in, going out, how much you should allocate for taxes, and how much you can afford to pay yourself.
And while this course doesn’t provide live or in-person support, you will receive indefinite support. You will always have access to the Answer Archive Facebook group (as long as it’s in existence) where you can ask me anything business and marketing related. Even years after you’ve finished the course.
