10 Year Business Reflection

It has been 10 years since I started my business. Let’s go back to the beginning…

Watch the Reel!

Back in October 2013 I was 18 years old.

I was working as a residential loan assistant for Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank.

I had earned my associate’s degree in Liberal Arts from White Mountains Community College that May and working on my bachelor’s degree.

It would be another month and a half before I met my now husband, Shelby. This picture was taken when we started dating in June 2014.

At that time I wanted to be a photographer and my business went by MegaBug Photography.

My dad and step-mom, Charlotte, encouraged me to make my business legit and helped me fill out the registration form for my LLC.

And on October 9, 2013, it was approved. I received my fancy new camera the same day I received my certificate of formation.

I have been a business owner longer than I’ve known my husband.

Longer than I’ve had my bachelor’s degree.

Longer than I’ve owned my house.

Longer than I’ve been married.

And I’m proud of that.

My business has pivoted over the years and looking back, I’m grateful for the journey. Looking ahead, I’m excited for what’s to come.

I’d like to thank…

Ten years wouldn’t have happened without the guidance and support of the following:

Thank you to Dad and my step-mom, Charlotte for believing in me and helping me get legit.

Thank you to WREN and Stewart of the NHSBDC for your valuable advice.

Thank you to NCIC for the income you provided me and for all of the support you’ve given to northern NH and VT businesses.

Thank you to Emshika of Chang Thai Cafe for proving that you can be small town and still have big dreams. I’ve learned so much from you.

Thank you to Pat of North Country Spiritual Pathways for being my business buddy and keeping my energy in check.

Thank you to Patti for sharing a piece of your entrepreneurial journey with me, for creating our beautiful studio, for our friendship, and my new brand that fits me perfectly.

Thank you to my best friend and now business buddy, Paige of Tailswag for our friendship and the depth of your support.

Thank you to my husband, Shelby for supporting my business and me so passionately.

And, of course, thank you to my MegaBug Photography, Nutmeg Media, and Miss MegaBug clients for trusting me with your memories and/or business. It’s been an honor.

Thank you to my online course students and members for bringing my business towards its future. I’m excited to guide you on your own entrepreneurial journey!

And finally, thank you to my friends, family, followers, cheerleaders, and fan club. Your comments bring me such joy and I continue on because of you.
